Your shutter panels, frames and hardware are carefully removed, labelled and protected ready for reinstallation.

Once your replacement windows are fitted, I assess the new opening and check whether your existing shutters can be practically reused.

Where the new opening allows, your shutters are professionally reinstalled, adjusted and realigned so they look right and operate properly again.
Will Your Old Shutters Actually Fit the New Windows?
That's the question that really matters. Plantation shutters are made to measure. Your replacement windows may look almost identical while having slightly different dimensions, frame positions or clearances.

The new opening remains compatible and your shutters can be refitted with normal adjustments.
REUSE WITH ADDITIONAL WORK
The plantation shutters may still be usable but need adjustments, modifications or replacement frame components, depending on their construction and the new opening.

Every job is different. Cost depends on factors such as the number and size of the shutters, their design and condition, access, complexity and whether adjustments or modifications are required when they’re refitted. Along with travel time and location. Send me photographs and details of the work you’re planning so I can advise on the best next step.
Will My Shutters Definitely Fit After My New Windows Are Installed?
Not necessarily. Replacement windows can change the dimensions and clearances of the opening. I’ll assess the new installation and refit your existing shutters where practical, with honest advice if additional work or replacement is the better option.
Could My Shutters Be Damaged During Removal?
Plantation shutters need careful handling because their frames, panels, hinges and fixings form part of a made-to-measure installation. Professional removal is designed to reduce unnecessary risk and keep components organised and protected throughout the work.
What If My New Windows Are a Different Size?
Small differences may sometimes be accommodated through adjustments or other remedial work. Larger dimensional changes may mean the shutters can’t practically be reused. Every installation needs to be assessed individually.
Can You Remove Shutters Installed by Another Company?
Yes. I can assess shutters supplied or fitted by another company. Their condition, construction, fixing method and compatibility with the new opening will determine what’s possible.
